Bodrum
Bodrum is great! Two bays separated by a peninsula on which sits a castle
built by the crusading knights of St. John. Hundreds of shops and restaurants,
thousands of boats. Dad would love it; many of the boats are luxurious wooden
sailing ships available for cruising.
Meg is getting a bit up tight about the wild life. Apart from the cockroaches
and devouring ants she has encountered huge six legged hairy hornets, large
black ants and mosquitoes intent on devouring any exposed skin. She sleeps
like a trailer for the curse of the mummy's tomb, swathed from tip to toe.
There are many cats in Bodrum usually to be found in groups watching intently
the unloading of the fish.
In our room we have a tap inscribed "hot" It has produced hot water only once.
The electricity is sometimes on and sometimes off. The radio produces music
sometimes and sometimes not. Interestingly the on/offness of the radio does
not correspond with the electricity. The mosquitoes always work.
